Sydney Cricket Ground

More than just another sporting venue, the SCG has a rich history, woven into the very tapestry of the city itself. Dating back almost 170 years, the very first cricket match was held on the grounds in 1854. It wasn’t until 1875 that the NSW Cricket Association permitted it as an official cricket ground, redeveloping the area and renaming it as the ACG. Located just a 20-minute drive from Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach, reaching it for Test matches, Big Bash, Mardi Gras and tours is quick and convenient.
Test Cricket
Start the New Year with the Australia vs India Test Match from January 7th -11th, 2021 at the SCG. Soak up the atmosphere, while enjoying great weather and all of the excitement of the game.

BBL
Soak up the warm summer sun as the Big Bash League kicks things up a gear. Cheer on your favourite team, enjoy a family day out and get involved in the excitement of the year ahead.
Take in the first BBL game of the year as the Sydney Sixers host Perth Scorchers on January 16th, 2021. On January 22nd, the Sixers face the Sydney Thunder. January 24th sees the Hobart Hurricanes travel to NSW and face the Sixers, while January 26th is when the Perth Scorchers go up against Brisbane Heat.
Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras
In 2021, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is being held in one of Australia's most iconic venues. For the first time in history, the SCG will be transforming into the ultimate LGBTQI+ event space.
Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras will now be able to host 46,000 spectators at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Unlike traditional Mardi Gras floats, this year's parade pulls inspiration from its heritage with plenty of glitzy pageantry, colourful performances and outfits made to dazzle.
The theme is one that brings everyone from any background together - RISE - which after the hardships 2020 brought, embraces respect, compassion, understanding and togetherness.
The first internationally significant event to be held since the spread of COVID-19 will take place on March 6th, 2021, with adult tickets $20, concessions, $15 and groups are $50.
Game Day in the EQ
The Entertainment Quarter is the perfect place to enjoy pre-game dinner and drinks or post-game celebrations throughout the season. Living up to its name, entertainment is definitely on the menu here.
