The wider Eastern Suburbs is known as a fashionable Sydney hub. Coogee is only a stone’s throw from hip locations including Bondi, Double Bay and Randwick that offer a further variety of high end, street, and local labels.
Café culture
Food, glorious food. There are just too many delectable cafes and restaurants in and around Coogee to soak up the energetic buzz and satisfy a craving.
For a great coffee fix, you can’t go by Gusto Espresso Bar or Cali Press health café – also known for their incredible breakfasts! Barzura offers one of the best beachside coffee views, looking straight out across Coogee Beach.
The Little Kitchen is a favourite for its British-inspired fare. For the Francophile, then Le Petit Cafe hits the spot with its French pastries, crepes and other delicacies and Cafe De France is reminiscent of a European neighbourhood dining experience.
Later in the day, head to The Rooftop at Coogee Pavilion for an ideal vantage spot that is great for groups with four indoor and outdoor bars for a cocktail (or two) and Mediterranean style bites. This venue is also top for family dining, with its kids’ play area to the rear of the premise and menu that includes top pizzas.
For a more casual affair, A Fish Called Coogee is the must-visit for a serve of fish and chips – grab it takeaway, and dine by the beach.
Or further afield, head to Bondi for Matt Moran’s loved North Bondi Fish for the freshest of seafood, cocktails, and great people watching. While the best view in Bondi for breakfast, lunch or dinner has to go to the iconic Icebergs – the place where all the stars eat when they come to town for the quintessential Sydney experience.
If you don’t want to leave the hotel, Oceans dining & drinks on the ground floor of the hotel is a popular spot for a cocktail concoction, tapas fare, and to watch the big sporting games from the sunny outdoor terrace.
