Don’t miss the Sydney games for this year’s Rugby League World Cup on Nov 4 and 11. Held at the Sydney Football Stadium in nearby Moore Park – grab the mates, and make a weekend of it. On Nov 4 it’s England vs Lebanon, and the Nov 11 game is Australia vs Lebanon.
Lost Boys Brewing micro-brewery pop-up
Check out the surf and enjoy a local craft ale at the same time. Lost Boys Brewing are the entrepreneurial team behind the microbrewery of the same name. From October 1, they will host an outdoor pop-up backyard brewery in the hotel’s beachside courtyard, Oceans dining & drinks. Available until March 2018.

Cutthroat’s Barber Shop and Shaving Parlour is a popular social hub for the local lads, with its cool old-school interiors, $40 mens’ hair cuts, $20 buzz cuts and $30 traditional face shave. A grooming hot spot when on the go, or before a night on the town. Located at 11-13 Havelock Ave, Coogee.

Coogee Beach is across the road, for some ocean goodness – whether it’s on a surfboard, bodyboard, SUP or surf ski. The Eastern Suburbs coastline is home to many top surfing beaches with Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte to the north, and Maroubra and Malabar to the south. Pick up some tips with the professionals at Let’s Go Surfing who run group and private lessons. They also run SUP lessons.
Archie Rose Distillery tours and classes
Archie Rose is the hottest new name in vodka, gin and whisky. Visit their operation in nearby Rosebery for a distillery tour and tasting with the mates, take part in a masterclass, or blend your own signature gin and whisky for a special experience.
Under the sea, on a scuba experience
There’s no better thrill than an underwater adventure, and Pro Dive Coogee is a certified PADI operator running a range of courses and dives. For the more experienced, try the dive sites nearby including Wedding Cake Island – 1 kilometre off Coogee Beach. As you descend, see the reef shelves and plentiful aquatic life including wobbegongs, kingfish, schools of luderick, cuttlefish, the renowned blue groper and more.
Coogee to Bondi – the ultimate running track
The Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk is one of Sydney’s most favourite tracks – traverse the rocky headland walk, with surf-checks along the way. Grab a bite to eat in Bondi, before making your return journey with a swim along the way.
From now until Nov 5, see Sculpture by the Sea – the world’s largest, free to the public sculpture exhibition. An impressive sight, the outdoor exhibition includes 100 sculptures on display by local Australian and international artists.
